![]() ![]() The "R" (Remington) identification mark is stamped on the various visible parts to include the tip of the forend tip of the stock. The provisional "Eagle Head" Ordnance inspection mark is stamped in two places on the top of the receiver rail, on the underside of the stock in front and behind the trigger guard. The "Shell & Flame" insignia is stamped on the left side of the receiver rail and on the top of the bolt handle. The front end of the barrel is marked: "R/Ordnance Corps Shell & Flame" insignia, over the date "8-18". The receiver is marked: "U.S./MODEL OF 1917/REMINGTON/555113" in four lines. This is a very late WWI Remington Model 1917 bolt action rifle. ![]()
